Also, when driving, white people love putting their turn signal on about a half mile before the turn.

Luckily, we keep getting the exemptions, like noting that Europeans actually ARE into soccer. Well, we call it football. Also there should be an exemption about the sportswear. Europeans dress up after work, if they are going somewhere, Americans dress down. This means you are likely to meet a European person on the way to work in his fleece jacket, only to meet him out on town in an elegant coat and some snappy shoes after work. There should be warning for American men dating European women: do not get into your casual wear if you have invited her out to dinner! She ll come dressed to kill and if you re not dressed for it, she ll just leave your carcass in the gutter.

My electric bill is $480 every 90 days. Yes, using the dryer is expensive so we don t use it much. We use it for the sock/jocks and big towls, everything else is line-dried inside. (Clothes-munching dog outside.)

We live in a richer world. But the gap between rich and poor is still very wide in individual countries. How to change this? Listen to Rob and Harry’s discussion, and learn some related vocabulary.

You should be a part of a contest for one of the finest websites online. I m going to recommend this web site!

Hey! Someone in my Facebook group shared this site with us so I came to check it out. I m definitely loving the information.

Yup, I am with Chris. Our HOA specifically bans hanging laundry, even in the backyard where it can t be seen! Besides, I also don t like the stiffness of line-dried clothing, and it would be my luck that I would forget it outside and some animal would do something horrible to it.

James Reinhart spent months trying to get somebody, anybody, to invest in his idea: an online clothing exchange for women and kids.

A little TLC helps our clothes look good and last longer - from finding time to 'have-a-go' at getting out a stain to following the washing instructions on the label.

Keeping only the clothes that give me a spark of joy has allowed me to relinquish items that I've been keeping out of one kind of guilt or another —that I bought something and never really wore it, because someone else gave it to me, or because it's wasteful to get rid of something that's perfectly 'good.'

Ageing, he thought, comes about because this developmental programme, this constant change, never turns off. From birth until puberty, change is crucial: we need it to grow and mature. After we ve matured, however, our adult bodies don t need change, but rather maintenance. If you ve built the perfect house, you would want to stop adding bricks at a certain point, Walker says. When you ve built a perfect body, you d want to stop screwing around with it. But that s not how evolution works. Because natural selection cannot influence traits that show up after we have passed on our genes, we never evolved a stop switch for development, Walker says. So we keep adding bricks to the house. At first this doesn t cause much damage a sagging roof here, a broken window there. But eventually the foundation can t sustain the additions, and the house topples. This, Walker says, is ageing.

This is very true. However being a person from the mountains in the west and now living in the city on the east. I don t feel as foolish wearing my ski jacket and hat when people are using umbrellas to cover themselves from the snow that never even sticks to the ground. You can spot the posers, but then again maybe I look foolish to them. But I still don t have to carry an umbrealla around wherever I go. FACE!

In August 2009, MaryMargret Williams saw a photo of Brooke on the cover of People magazine, just below the headline Heartbreaking mystery: The 16-year-old baby . She thought Brooke sounded a lot like Gabby, so contacted Walker.

A lawyer representing Thrift Land USA of Yonkers, and its owner Carl Vella, refused to comment to CNNMoney.

To each his (or her) own. Everyone has his or her own preferences. Personally, I use a clothesline much of the time in summer, but often toss those clothes into the dryer just to fluff them. Oh, that tends to get the beetles out, too. No fun finding a beetle in your undies.

A big advantage of making your own clothes is that you can choose from some amazing (and novelty) fabrics - including ones which you can use to pay homage to your favourite movie/tv program/actor etc - in fact you'll find kid's duvet covers are a great source of weird and wonderful fabrics!

You'll never have to hem and haw about whether something will be useful later, whether you should keep it because it's a 'good shirt' or was expensive or any of that! Note that 'sparking joy' applies perfectly well to items that aren't exactly thrilling but that serve us well. For instance, the cotton camisole that doesn't rise up and is just the right length — that sure sparks joy for me! Socks without holes spark a lot more joy than socks with holes. You get the picture.

Notably different to the usual stiffly posed formal photographs, this pair appear refreshingly relaxed in front of the camera, standing as casually in the studio as they might when chatting to a pal in the street!

I remain utterly at a loss to explain what goes on in this tintype photograph! At first I thought the seated fellow was acting the sewing up of a split in the other chap’s trousers, with white paper playing the part of the tear - but then I spotted more paper and a pair of scissors in the kneeling man’s hand.
Any ideas?

Beginning his involvement with photography as a model, he went on to become a photographer in his own right, breaking all boundaries between the sensual nude and provocative erotica - see my collected examples of his work here.

The utterly gorgeous Vincenzo Galdi, posing in profile for his mentor Guglielmo Plüschow c1890. We have seen a remarkably similar shot before, just a slight shift in position, his eyes raised a little here and more downcast in the other, and more flowers tucked into his hair - I imagine model and photographer poring over the developed prints, discussing which they preferred.

What a pity these sitters did not decide to annotate their photographs, how nice it would be to know their names!

An alternate version of this photograph by Guglielmo Plüschow, showing much crisper light than the close-up - as they were taken outdoors, not with studio lighting, maybe we see here the difference between full sun and the softening shade of a cloud....

I’m extremely fond of these antique photographs of affectionate men, this one is particularly sweet, with the subtlest of smiles, and each holding a circular fan.

Two handsome well-dressed chaps circa 1870, posing with the rather unconvincing plaster rocks which seem to have been a staple of every 19th century photographer’s studio.

A dear little double portrait from the turn of the last century. I wonder which of this affectionate pair kept the print safe and sound, never knowing just how many people might look on it and smile, a hundred years later - such a touching look back...
