Keeping only the clothes that give me a spark of joy has allowed me to relinquish items that I've been keeping out of one kind of guilt or another —that I bought something and never really wore it, because someone else gave it to me, or because it's wasteful to get rid of something that's perfectly 'good.'

De Magalhaes and Gladyshev are under no illusions about the arduous journey but they remain hopeful. History is full of claims by experts that certain advances are impossible, only to be proven wrong soon after, says de Magalhaes. Consider the state of medicine just 120 years ago, when some of today s bowhead whales were still in their infancy. Back then life-threatening infections were just a fact of life. Today, antibiotics are taken for granted as the most basic healthcare.

That side twisty ponytail definitely needs a tutorial to go with it are you listening, Namrata Soni ?

To each his (or her) own. Everyone has his or her own preferences. Personally, I use a clothesline much of the time in summer, but often toss those clothes into the dryer just to fluff them. Oh, that tends to get the beetles out, too. No fun finding a beetle in your undies.

Even once they had collected the material, the team still faced the extraordinary task of building the genetic sequence. Given the enormous volume of data, the task was akin to shredding hundreds of thousands of copies of Moby Dick and then pasting the individual sentences back together into a meaningful order.

The webbing clothes moth is the most common fabric moth. The adult is gold with reddish-golden hairs on the top of its head. A row of golden hairs fringes its wings, which have a span of about 1/2 inch. Because these moths are weak flyers that aren't attracted to lights, you'll usually find them close to the infested items, such as in a dark area of the closet.

You see a lot of people here in the Denver/Boulder area wearing this type of clothing including myself but a lot of people out here actually do outdoor activities not just talk about it.

Rob Well, you know your saris well because that is the right answer. Well done! Now, before we go, it's time to remind ourselves of some of the vocabulary that we've heard today. Will.

That may sound alarming, but it has long been known that our bodies are really a mishmash of many different organisms. Microbes in your gut can produce neurotransmitters that alter your mood some scientists have even proposed that the microbes may sway your appetite , so that you crave their favourite food. An infection of a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii , meanwhile, might just lead you to your death. In nature, the microbe warps rats brains so that they are attracted to cats, which will then offer a cosy home for it to reproduce. But humans can be infected and subjected to the same kind of mind control too: the microbe seems to make someone risky, and increases the chance they will suffer from schizophrenia or suicidal depression. Currently, around a third of British meat carries this parasite, for instance despite the fact an infection could contribute to these mental illnesses. We should stop this, says Kramer.

Published as a postcard circa 1910, this sandalled strongman leaves nothing to chance in protecting his modesty, and wears a large paper leaf, thoroughly secured with plenty of string!

The printed inscription on this magnificent man’s photograph looked familiar, on investigation I found I have another from the same photographer, one K. Pospishil of Bohemia.

A very welcome addition to my small collection of photographs showing Eugen Sandow, and such extremely thorough credits are a delight to see!

Showing off his impressive physique in the photographer’s studio, this strapping chap seems to have been given a little discreet editing before printing; he’s distinctly blurry around the edges of that little fig leaf!

The impressively muscular Otto Olympier, his picture taken by an uncredited photographer and published as a postcard. Not intended to be sent home from a holiday as we mostly use them today, but for those who collected the cards as a hobby; images of strongmen and bodybuilders seem to have been a popular subject, judging by the amount which have survived to this day.

Eugen Sandow, in a studio photography session for George Steckel, 1894 - his directions appear to have been along the lines of ‘look up; look gently happy’, for the other shot I have from the same series follows the precise same theme!

Georg Lurich, unusual among early strongmen in having his photograph published fully nude on occasion, rather than always discretely covered up (either in the studio, or with a little later editing before printing), as was the norm.

Having last seen the mighty Sandow in motion, I thought you may like a still image to enjoy - here he is being carefully posed by the studio team (and given a jolly odd look by the chap on the right!)

One for the admirers of the more muscular of male forms, a photograph of one Ed Gloeggler, circa 1900 - doesn’t he have impressively strong shoulders, and I’m rather taken with the ruffled blond curls!
